'Matsuri,' the No. 1 musical production in Japan that previously had a short run at the Riviera, will open at the Sahara on May 29. The stage show, which mixes elements of Japanese culture, features Olympic medalists and world-class athletes performing to high-energy music. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Monday - Saturday. With more than 18 acts, 'Matsuri' incorporates extreme sports, gymnastics, comedic routines and vibrantly colored costumes throughout the show. Japanese earth and foot drum dances are blended into the show and are performed by tapping, clapping and stomping to create heart-pounding rhythms. The talented cast consisting of 28 performers includes world champion German wheel gymnast, world champion mountain biker, world-class Yo-Yo champion, world record hula hoop champion, a karate expert specializing in sword fight action stunts and a world record bungee jumping act. The revue continually evolves as the newest world-class athletes from Japan are integrated into the show.

Matsuri creator and famed Japanese producer Ushio Higuchi originally created a musical sports variety program for Japanese television called 'Kinniku-banzuke' and then developed the live stage show. In Japan, the stage production is called 'Muscle Musical' and opened in 2001. 'Muscle Musical' was the first stage production to have a permanent theater built specifically for the show and it continues to play to sold-out audiences. In Las Vegas, the show is called 'Matsuri,' which means 'festival.'

The inaugural Las Vegas Fest will be a three-day, all-things Beatles festival taking place July 1-3 at The Mirage and it will feature live music, art, memorabilia, special guests, contests and much more.

The Fest for Beatles Fans began in 1974 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Beatles arrival in the United States. That first year, John Lennon donated a signed guitar and fellow band mates also donated items for a charity raffle and The Fest landed on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine.

The Fest for Beatles Fans 2007: Las Vegas Fest will feature headline concerts from rock duo Peter & Gordon, whose repertoire includes songs written by Lennon and Sir Paul McCartney. Also performing will be former Beatles drummer Pete Best and his band, three members of McCartney's former rock supergroup, Wings, and Beatles tribute band Liverpool. Additional appearances will include Victor Spinetti, actor and co-star in three Beatles movies, and Ringo Starr's former producer Mark Hudson and broadcaster Larry Kane who toured with the Beatles in 1964 and 1965.

The event's master of ceremonies will be leading Beatles scholar, humorist, writer and producer Martin Lewis. Other announcers will include Dennis Mitchell host of radio show 'Breakfast with The Beatles,' Tony Perkins formerly from 'Good Morning America,' and Joe Johnson from the nationally syndicated radio show 'Beatle Brunch.'

Another highlight will be the Giant International Beatles Marketplace comprised of more than 75 tables of memorabilia. The Fest will be celebrating four major Beatles anniversaries: the 40th anniversary of the band's 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' album; the 50th anniversary of the birth of the Beatles, honoring the day in July 1957 when Lennon and McCartney first met; the 40th anniversary of the first-ever global TV satellite link-up in which the Beatles gave a live performance of their new Summer of Love anthem 'All You Need is Love' to 400 million TV viewers; and the one-year anniversary of The Beatles 'LOVE' by Cirque du Soleil at The Mirage.

The Las Vegas Fest will be held in the Grand Ballroom complex. Show hours will be 2 p.m. to midnight on Sunday and noon to midnight Monday and Tuesday. Advance tickets are $45 per day. The free 'Simon Super Chefs Live!' day-long celebration of food, cooking and entertainment will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, at The Forum Shops at Caesars and headlined by a celebrity TV chef soon be announced. Additionally, top local chefs will be on-hand to showcase their culinary skills.

Emmy award-winning emcee Bill Boggs will host the event that will include live cooking performances and demonstrations, a segment on entertaining, food and beverage sampling, cookbook sales, autograph signings and a round-robin cook-off between local celebrity chefs.

The authentic Irish pub shipped directly from the Emerald Isle, J.C. Wooloughan's at the JW Marriott in northwest Las Vegas, is introducing a summer concert series in its outdoor arena, The Backyard. The series will begin on June 1 and 2 at 9 p.m. with the Joshua Tree, a Southern California renowned U2 cover band that will be putting on concerts throughout scattered weekends in July and August. The concert series will continue with a run July 13 and 14. The final weekend, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 will include a bonus celebration when J.C. Wooloughan celebrates its 8th anniversary.

'Hypnosis Gone Wild' will be changing the name of the late night comedy hypnosis show starring Terry Stokes and Michael Johns at The Empire Ballroom to 'Hypnosis Unleashed' because of possible identity problems with 'Girls Gone Wild.'

The Dave Koz show planned for July 27 at The Pearl inside the Palms has been cancelled due to circumstances and scheduling.
